CYBERYOUTH is a European project to strengthen youth and youth organisations in cybersecurity. With the last EU strategy on cybersecurity, the role of youth has been overlooked, while much more should be done to encourage young people in getting interested about the cybersecurity world. Certainly, several cybersecurity courses are mushrooming, but the real point is how to make such a topic more appealing and more popular toward a wider youth public.

Our key – engaging youth workers, youth associations and any youth-oriented stakeholders to learn how to transfer in a nonformal way cybersecurity, developing tools and activities which can make youth more curious and comfortable in approaching such a wide and complex topic. Plus, we want to make youth organisations and youth stakeholders reflect on the importance of being cyber-resilient!

With CYBERYOUTH we have interviewed more than 60 youth and over 60 youth workers to discuss and get opinions about cybersecurity, and cyber behaviours. Plus, we have done research especially to spot how each participating country is doing to protect and support young people!

To do so, we met in Italy, in the small town of Cori, near Rome. In the kick-off meeting youth organisations, companies and educational centres met to start the adventure of this exciting project and make very useful tools and activities available!

As an anticipation, please check out the brand-new project website, available in English, Italian, Bulgarian, Dutch, Estonian, Spanish and Turkish.
